Sutapa Sikdar is a debut dialogue writer in tv series Banegi Apni Baat in 1993, She was also a film dialogue writer in Khamoshi: The Musical in 1996. she also the producer of the film Madaari in the year 2016.

Presently, Sutapa Sikdar’s marital status is Widowed. Her husband was Irrfan khan. They married on 23 February 1995 (Thursday). While she was in the national school of drama from 1985 to 1987 she fell in love with her fellow classmate Irrfan khan. They did just a simple court marriage in 1995. Sadly, Irrfan khan passed away on 29th April 2020, the worst day in the history of India and Bollywood.

After passing out from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Andrews Ganj, New Delhi, she took admission to the national school of drama in the year 1987, and there she met Irrfan. First, both of them became friends and finally, they were in love with each other.
After completing her graduation from the national school of drama, Irrfan and Sutapa finally decided to marry each other after getting work in serials and films.
Sutapa wrote an episode named Alvida and Star bestsellers in 2000.
He also wrote dialogues for bollywood films such as supari in 2003 and kahaani in the year 2012.
Sutapa also worked as a producer in the bollywood film which was qarin qarib single in the year 2017.
