The Indian Hockey Player Sandeep Singh was born on 27th February 1986 in Shahabad, Markanda, Kurukshetra Haryana India. His hometown is Haryana. His Zodiac sign is Pisces. Sandeep Singh was born into a family of Hockey players. His father, elder brother, and sister-in-law have been associated with this game.

Career
The Hockey Player Sandeep Singh started his career at an early age and made his international debut in Kuala Lumpur with the Sultan Azlan Shah cup in January 2004. He played many innings after that and broke the record play. In January 2009 he became the Captain of the Indian Hockey team.
Sandeep Singh’s coach/mentor is his brother Bikramjeet Singh. His brother is also a player, his brother plays for Indian oil.
Indian Hockey team won several tournaments under his captaincy. He made India win the finals at Ipoh. Also, India qualified for the Olympics in London after five years. The team defeated France in the finals.
At the time he was said to be the well-known drag Flicker in the world with a speed of 145km/H. He was the top goal scorer of the tournament.
He was the highest scorer with a hat trick goal from all the penalty corners and scored 16 goals.
The International Hockey Federation in 2011 nominated him as a top-five Hockey player in the world.
At the inaugural Hockey India League auctions. He became the fifth highest-paid marquee player bought by Mumbai Franchise. For the Mumbai Magicians, he scored 11 out of 12 goals in the entire first league and emerged as the first scorer to score in 2013.

He was accidentally shot in the year 2006 when he was boarding the Kalka Shatabdi Express Train. This lead to paralyzing him completely and left him in a wheelchair for over a year. He recovered from the injury with his dedication not only he was standing on his feet. He established his name once again in the Indian Hockey team. He played for the team in 2010.

Sandeep Singh’s wife was a Junior Hockey player Harjinder Kaur. Both of the families were located in the same village a few years ago. Both fall in love and got married. The wife of Sandeep Singh was also an exceptional Hockey player and played for the women’s Hockey team India. She became a homemaker and runs an NGO after getting married.
Political Career
Sandeep Singh BJP joined and made his debut in 2019 in the Haryana Assembly Election as a Candidate for the Bharatiya Janatha Party. He elected as MLA in 2019 in Pehowa Constituency. He has been sworn as a sports minister in Haryana. He holds a DSP rank in the Haryana police for his achievements in the field of Hockey.
Biopic / Movie
Sandeep Singh Soorma a biopic was made about his life and his achievements and struggle by filmmaker Shaad Ali which was released in 2018 in the month of July. The film stars Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi as his on-screen wife and brother. The lead role was played by Diljit Dosanjh who portrayed the role of Sandeep Singh.

Sandeep Singh was awarded Arjuna Award by the president of India in 2010 for his achievements.
He scored 16 goals in the qualifying game of the summer Olympics in 2012. He became the leading scorer in the entire tournament.
He scored the most goals in Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in 2009.
He broke the record of Dhanraj Pillay by scoring 120 goals in a match against France during the qualifier round in London Olympics in 2012.
