Patralekha is an Indian actress who has worked in the Bollywood industry. She is famous for playing the lead role opposite Rajkumar Rao in her debut film CityLights in 2014.

Patralekha was born on 20th February 1990 in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. Her real name is Anwita Paul. Her grandmother gave her the name Patralekha as she was a poet. Patralekha belongs to the Bengali Kayastha family. She has two siblings. She did her schooling at The Assam Valley School, Balipara in Assam, and Bishop Cotton Girls School Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Patralekha used to be active in her school sports activities. In addition, she used to participate in competitions like swimming, horse riding, and basketball.

Patralekha came to Mumbai to pursue her further higher education from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai.

Initially, Patralekha’s parents wanted her to be a chartered accountant; since her teenage days, she aspired to become an actress.

Career:

After her graduation, Patralekha joined an acting crash course from Barry’s John’s acting school. She also started working as a model for various brands such as Tata Docomo and Blackberry, and other commercials before getting her big break in the Bollywood industry.

Patralekha Worked in Baldev Raj Chop Ra’s Production house, B.R. Films.

In 2014, Patralekha made her Bollywood debut in Hansal Mehta’s CityLights. She played the lead role of Rakhi Singh alongside co-actor Rajkumar Rao. The film tells the story of a poor couple from Rajasthan moving to Mumbai in search of Livelihood.

The film was a commercial success. The critics and audiences much appreciated the movie. Her next film Love Games was directed by Vikram Bhatt. It is an Urban-thriller movie which was produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt. The film was released on 8th April 2016. However, the film received negative reviews. But her performance as Ramona Raichand was appreciated by audiences.

Patralekha also debuted as a lead actor in the Web miniseries Bose: Dead/Alive in 2017. She played the role of Nandani. In 2018, Patralekha played the lead role of Siddhi in the film Nanu ki Janu. But again, the film received mixed reviews from the audiences.

Relationship:

Patralekha is the girlfriend of Rajkumar Rao. They are known to be the strongest couples in the Bollywood industry. They both met together in their debut film CityLights in 2014. Since then they are dating each other. They are often seen at public places and awards functions. Patralekha shares her pictures with Rajkumar Rao on her social media platforms like Instagram.
