Kamya Punjabi was born on 13th August 1979 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She was brought up in a well-settled Punjabi Family. Her father is a Mumbai-based businessman. Her mother’s name is Nanda Punjabi. She has two younger siblings namely Sonia and Mala Punjabi. she graduated from the University of Mumbai. from teenager she was very much inclined towards modeling.

Career
Kamya Punjabi started her Career as a model and worked on various Modeling assignments. She made her debut in a TV show based on the horror genre Ssshhhh…Koi Hai in 2001. She also appeared in Bollywood movies Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai, in the year 2000. She also made her debut in Telugu-Maa Avida Meeda Vottu Mee Aavida Chala Manchidi, a film in the year 2003.
Later she also appeared in TV serials such as Astitva…Ek Prem Kahani in 2002, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki-in 2005, Banoo Main Teri Dungannon in 2006, and Beintehaa in 2014.
She became popular for her Vamp role in Banoo Main Teri Dungannon. Thus she was known as Vamp Queen in the Television industry and has won many awards.
She also featured in music videos such as “Mehendi Mehendi” in 1997. And in 2003 she was featured in a music video ‘Kala Shah Kala’ by Anamika.
She also appeared in Comedy Circus along with Comedian Rajiv Thakur in 2008. she participated in Bigg Boss season 7 as a Contestant where Gauhar khan won the season.

Kamya Punjabi Relationships / Marriage
In 2003, Kamya married a Businessman Bunty Negi. Both had differences and issues in their marriage and they filed for divorce in 2006. Later on, they decided to give a chance to their marriage and the couple was blessed with a daughter Aara.
But after that, they started facing problems and they got divorced in 2013. As her husband accused her of an extramarital affair with her co-star of Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki (Nimali Bali). He is also the cousin of Sanjay Dutt.
Kamya Punjabi met Karan Patel during the Celebrity Cricket league and love started to blossom with them. But due to some rumors, things took an ugly turn and the two decided to end their relationship in 2013.
As per Some sources, it was known that Karan was not loyal to her. As he announced her Marriage to Ankita Bhargava. Also, Karan’s parents were not ready to accept a divorcee and a mother of a child as their daughter-in-law.

Controversy
The late actress Pratyusha Banerjee was one of her best friends. In 2017 she received a legal notice from the Mumbai court for releasing a short film ‘Hum Kuch Keh Na Sakey’ starring the late TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee.
The case was filed by late actress boyfriend Rahul against Kamya. As the story was similar to their real-life story. However, the short film was released on Pratyusha’s first death anniversary.
