Chitra Tripathi was born on 11th May 1986 in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. She belongs to a Brahmin middle-class Family. Her nickname is Chitra. She pursued her master’s in defense studies from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University. She has three younger siblings; one of them is Shweta, her younger sister who also works as a news reporter on the Republic India News Channel.
Since Childhood, Chitra was passionate about learning the defense and always wanted to join the Indian Army. She never thought of becoming a Journalist.
Chitra used to participate in NCC Camps and Activities as a Cadet. She also bagged a gold medal at the republic day parade in Delhi.
Career
Chitra started her Career as Journalist at a Doordarshan center in Gorakhpur, UP. Next on, she worked briefly at a regional Tv channel ETV and “News 24”.
She worked at many leading news channels such as Sahara Samay, India News, ABP News in her span of 14- year career.
She joined as a news anchor and producer in the Sahara Samay. Chitra used to host a prime show called ‘Betiyaan.’ In the channel.
While working at the India News Channel, she received a letter of appreciation from the Indian Army for her story “Hindustan is mission Jai Hind.” She gained popularity and appreciation from the audience.
She got wide recognition as a famous news anchor in the country for hosting prime shows like Kaun Banega Mukhiyamantri’ ‘Modi Ke 4 Saal, ‘2019 Kaun Jeetega’, ‘Bihar is neta Kaisa go’ .when she joined ABP News in 2016. Chitra used to host a prime weekly debate show called ‘Press Conference’ on this channel.
She became a famous news anchor in a short period while working at ABP News. Chitra once did a story about a village where there was no electricity other than the local BJP MLA house. Post her coverage, the town started experiencing electricity for the first time after Independence.
Later on, Chitra resigned from the channel in 2019 after working for three years.

She was involved in controversy as she registered a complaint against her husband for domestic violence at the police station in Noida sector 24 in the Year 2016. Later on, the couple resolved their issues themselves.
