Ayushmann Khurrana is an Indian actor, Television host, RJ, and singer. He rose to fame with his debut film Vicky donor in 2012. He is also a national award winner for Best Actor in ‘Andhadhun’ film in 2019.

Ayushmann Khurrana was born in Chandigarh India on 14th September 1984 to P. Khurrana and Poonam Khurrana. He was born with the name Nishant Khurana. At the age of three, his father P.khurrana an Astrologer and Numerologist changed his name to Ayushmann Khurrana.
He was a bright student at school. He used to act in plays and was a great performer at school. He was inspired by his grandmother who used to mimic Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar.
At the age of 4, when his family along with him decided to watch Madhuri Dixit’s movie Tezaab(1998) in theatre. He decided to become an actor. His mother is of half-Burmese descent. He has a younger sibling who was also a radio jockey as well as now an actor.
He graduated from Punjab University with a Master of mass communication and holds an honor in English literature.
Relationships
He met his wife Tahira at the age of 16 for the first time. During his initial teenage days with her. He once promised her to marry him in the future.
He later on in 2011 tied the knot with his childhood friend Tahira Kashyap. They are blessed with two children. The eldest child is a son while the youngest one is a daughter.
Career
He joined in theatre play to nature his acting skills. He is one of the founding members of the theatre groups in Aagaaz, Chandigarh, and Manchtantra. Ayushmann actively participated in many Street show plays.
Right before as an actor. Ayushmann was a radio jockey at Big FM, Delhi after his graduation. During his days as RJ, he hosted shows and one such show which was popular in the Big FM channel was called Big Chai – with Ayushmann. Then he shifted to VJ with MTV during the initial phase of his career.
Later on, he also participated in one of the reality shows on Channel V called popstars. Where he was the youngest contestant in the show in 2002.
He even participated in an MTV reality show called Roadies season 2. Where he emerged as a winner. He came into the limelight with this show.
Ayushmann made his debut in the film Vicky donor in 2012. The movie was highly appreciated by critics and audiences for its role. He even made his singing debut in the film with the song Pani Da Rang song which was in the top chartbusters.
Right from 2012 to now he has acted in 16 films out of which half of them were appreciated by the audiences for his pivotal and different roles in the film.
His movie “Andhadhun” which was released in 2018 was one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and earned him a national award as the Best Actor.
He was recognized for his acting and timely comic skills along with singing.
He has hosted several awards shows.
He received good reviews on his latest film alongside the megastar ‘Amitabh Bachchan‘s in the film ‘Gulabo Sitabo‘. He played the role of ‘Banke’ The movie was released on OTT platform Amazon in 2020.
His single songs such as ”Yahin hoon main”, ‘O Heeriye,” and “Mitti Di Khushboo, “were well appreciated by his fans and critics.
Ayushmann was named as the Best actor despite coming from a non-filmy background. He has carved a niche for himself in this commercial industry.
In each of his films, he portrayed different characters who brought life to the roles in the films like Badhaai Ho, Dream Girl, Bala, Article 15, Shubh Mangal Zyada Sasidharan, etc.
Controversy
Ayushmann’s s servant committed suicide in 2013 at his Goregaon apartment in Mumbai. However, the actor was not accused of it.
